    ESCRIPTION:
    Scans show them in detail.....lot of 4 early antique matching furniture brass escutcheon plates.
    Could be used on a variety of types of antique furniture and chests. Can be used as functional items, replacements, as part of a collection, OR WOULD EVEN LOOK GREAT FRAMED.
    These appear to have been stamped in thin sheet brass. Nice design details around the edge. GREAT LARGE OLD SAILING SHIP MOTIF IN THE CENTER. Full sails and flags flying. THIS SHIP IS VERY EARLY AND VERY COOL!
    I'm not sure of age, BUT THEY ARE EXTREMELY EARLY. I believe from the appearance and patina, AS WELL AS SUBJECT MATTER, that they are at least very early 1800's, and possibly late 1700's.
    POSSIBLY USED BY A CAPTAIN ON HIS CABIN FURNITURE.....possibly used by an early captain after he retired.
    Very good condition overall. Show age extremely well. Holes are 1/4" diameter. Not sure if pulls were ever there, but not there now.
    They measure about 3" x 2 5/8" each.
    From a local New England collection. These are great if you like furniture, ships and ship related items!!
