Clevenger Brothers Purple Glass Crown Bottle Beach Haven New Jersey "Queen City"

Description

Offered is an amethyst Clevenger crown ivy commemorative bottle honoring the Borough of Beach Haven, New Jersey on Long Beach island. The bottle reads "BOROUGH OF BEACH HAVEN NEW JERSEY" on one side, and "THE QUEEN CITY SIX MILES AT SEA 1976" on the other. The base has the embossing "AMERICAN HANDMADE MOUTH BLOWN," plus the initials CB for Clevenger Brothers. The bottle is 6" in height and 6 1/2" in width.
Information obtained on the web indicates only 200 of these commerative bottles were made. From its founding in 1930, to its closure in 1999, the Clevenger Brothers Glass Company of Clayton, NJ was known to produce hand blown glass that could fool the experts, blowing classic reproductions of early American South Jersey glass.
As can be seen in the last photo, the base of the bottle was drilled for a lamp. That aside, the bottle is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is dirt/grime on the inside of bottle.
